Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects 300,000 people in the United States alone. Broken down that equals about 200 people diagnosed with MS each week. But, many people still do not know what MS is. Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system, resulting in symptoms and mild and numbness in the limbs or as severe and paralysis and loss of vision. Unfortunately, the severity and progress of the disease is nearly impossible to predict as it varies so greatly from person to person.
On Tuesday, July 24th at 6:30 pm, Fitzpatrick’s is be hosting a free MS education class for those with MS and their loved ones. The class, offered by Novartis Pharmaceuticals, will feature talks from Dr. Roger Behar who specializes in MS and is a patient living with the disease. The class is an opportunity to hear about treatment plans, comprehensive support services offered by Novartis, and to connect with the local MS community.
