Now that you’ve got your best burgers, you’ll need some stellar sides to go with it. Sometimes the simplest meal is the best, especially in the summer when you just want to be outside enjoying food and friends. Grilled fruit certainly fits the bill. Grilled fruit is an excellent, in my opinion the best, option for summer eating. Healthy enough to eat as a side with your dinner and sweet enough to satisfy even the pickiest eaters for dessert.

We’ve even got a recipe from the owner himself – Grilled Honeydew.

Fresh honeydew, ready for a ride on the grill

Ingredients

zest of 3 limes

1/3 cup sugar

1 3-4 pound honeydew, sliced into 2-inch wedges

lime wedges

In a small bowl, combine lime zest and sugar. Grill melon wedges over high heat , turning once until caramelized, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and sprinkle with lime and sugar. Can be served warm or chilled with lime wedges and additional sugar.

Grill Tip: Place your fruit on the grill and leave it. When you move it around too much, you lose the grill marks.
